Oh Barcelona. If we never hear another drum or whistle again, it would be too soon.  Just when we thought it couldn’t get anymore cray, on our last (and favorite day here – “Let-Them-Eat-Cake” Day), we were so rudely awoken by a protest going on outside. How dare they ask for change at 8:30am. We’d heard yesterday that the King of Spain, Juan Carlos (not to be confused with Juan Pablo), had stepped down from power, and so we thought surely the two events were related. We all laid awake for a bit thinking for sure a 10 minute parade through the streets, blowing whistles, shouting, banging on drums, and blowing horns would be enough, and then they’d move on. Then an hour passed, and a break had yet to be heard. Then two hours passed.
